This is a pretty pointless post. I'm basically just writing to help wake myself up. Ironically, it's when I get tired and stressed from work that I want to wake up even earlier (5:37am today) so that I have time to sort of prepare myself for the day. ONE MORE DAY before the weekend. On my schedule for today is:
- Make sure everyone's hours on the payroll website we use (ADP) are logged correctly for the past two weeks (9 people)
- Meet with two clients at the Homeless Outreach Center. I'm not looking forward to this because I haven't had time to look into jobs they are looking for... we will probably work on resumes.
- Interview someone for one of our open positions
- Spend
three hours in one-on-one supervision with my staff (we do this twice a week every two weeks, each person gets 45 min.)
I just hope there aren't a lot of interruptions and small fires.
I've decided my patron saint for this year is St. Agnes, a martyr at 13 because she refused to marry the son of a Roman official. She was dragged naked through the streets of Rome, raped and executed. She knew she didn't "have" to do anything and accepted the price. Last Sunday when I met up with you-know-who we went to, as I mentioned, St. Agnes Catholic Church and it was the day after the feast of St. Agnes.
Oh, and I almost forgot! Today is my Name Day! January 27, the Feast of
St Angela Merici and the day I was baptized (1985! lol). She founded the Ursuline Sisters and was committed to educating girls (which of course I'm all about because I went to an all-girls high school and women's college... and my mom now teaches at a (different) girls' high school.)
